Read Luke's Story

Luke is a Senior at Ashland High School. His dream is to be a public speaker, continue his acting career, and model.

Luke was born with the disability quadriplegic cerebral palsy (CP) and the speech disability dysarthria.

His disabilities could have deprived him of the ability to walk and it has impacted many of his body’s gross motor functions. However, he maintains a 4.0 GPA at AHS.

Luke started neuromotor therapy when he was 6 months old. This therapy helps his brain’s capacity for neuroplasticity.

Eventually, the therapy helped Luke walk and even dance independently for the first time when he was 12 years old.

Taylor Swift’s song, “Shake It Off,” became Luke’s anthem and it was a dream come true when he met her in person in 2018.

Luke is a well-loved member of his community and is grateful for the love and support he has received over the years.

Luke will be adopted as the Sparrow at Ashland High School. AHS students will work hard to earn money for Luke through sponsored community service.

By doing community service, students will unlock funds that will help Luke and his mom purchase a wheelchair-accessible transport van.

This vehicle will give Luke the ability to move more freely around Ashland and the ability to get out in this world and live his dreams.
