Born on December 15, 2018, Journey’s life has been an inspiring story of resilience and positivity.
At just three days old, Journey was diagnosed with Trisomy 13, a rare chromosomal abnormality that presented immediate life-threatening challenges.
Journey spent her first 27 days including Christmas in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Journey struggles with several physical abnormalities, including tracheal and bronchial malformations. Doctors did not expect her to thrive, but she proved them wrong.
Journey’s story reaches beyond the hospital walls. She became a national symbol of hope and love, traveling to 26 states and making countless friends along the way.
Her infectious smile, coupled with her strength, inspired many and earned her recognition in a pageant where she not only captured her age division title but also the overall title.
Journey’s life has been filled with challenges, including fragile bones, and recurring respiratory illnesses. She’s faced numerous hospitalizations and medical emergencies, but her spirit remains unbroken.
Journey will be adopted as a Sparrow to Parrish Middle School in Salem OR. Students will work hard to earn money for Journey through sponsored community service.
