Read Grayson's Story

Grayson is an 8-year-old boy who attends Kennedy Elementary. He was born a happy and healthy baby.

At three months old he suffered a severe brain injury that caused countless seizures. He was flown to Portland where he underwent brain surgery and a blood transfusion.

When Grayson was 10 months old, his development began to regress. By the time he was a toddler, it was clear his brain wasn’t working the way it should.

Since his injury, he has been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, subdural hematoma, seizure disorder, communication disorders, Tourette’s syndrome, vision disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and much more.

Grayson’s brain injury and other diagnoses require extensive ongoing therapy, EEG’s, MRIs, and a variety of medical specialists who take part in his ongoing care.

Grayson’s extensive needs likely mean he will never reach independence.

While Grayson’s family is hopeful, much is unknown about the full scope of the impact his brain injury had on him. While he has made great progress, he still has a very long road ahead. Grayson brings pure love and joy to the world and the people around him.

Grayson will be adopted as a Sparrow to Lone Pine Elementary School. Lone Pine students will work hard to earn money for Grayson through sponsored community service.
