Elio is a smart and kind 12-year-old boy who attends Talent Middle School. His favorite activities are PE and recess.

nOn August 22, 2019, Elio was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma.

nIn order to fight this cancer, Elio, received chemo through a port. The chemo shrunk the tumor located in his right leg enough to allow doctors to surgically remove the cancerous bone.

nAfter the bone was removed, doctors installed an internal metal prosthesis. As Elio grows, he will continue to have surgeries to lengthen the prosthesis.

nIn December of 2020, Elio went in for a routine check-up and was given devastating news. The cancer returned and is now in his lungs

nElio is back in the fight and will continue the process of chemotherapy and many medical treatments.

nElio has also received radiation for his lungs and leg.

nDespite all the medical challenges, Elio always finds a way to stay joyful and be brave. The support of his community means the world to him.

nElio will be adopted as a Sparrow to South Medford High School. SMHS Students will work hard to raise money for Elio through sponsored community service.
