Meet Millie

Read Millie's Story

In December 2019 Millie’s parents took their 6-week-old baby girl to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital after noticing her increasingly floppy muscle tone, difficulty with breathing, choking episodes, and overall failure to thrive.
n
nSince then, Millie has been hospitalized nearly every month. She is mostly reliant on a G-tube for feeding but has been learning to eat some soft foods.
n
nThere is still not a clear diagnosis for Millie. Doctors say it may be cerebral palsy, but she is too young for them to know for sure.
n
nMillie does not like to put weight on her legs or arms and is expected to need special equipment to help her walk someday.
n
nMillie now has orthotics for her feet. She is still not walking on her own.
n
nDespite all her challenges, Millie is a fighter! She has the sweetest personality. Millie loves playing with her big sisters.
n
nMillie herself will soon be a big sister! Her family wants to share with you that baby sister Marlowe, coming in February, has Dwarfism and will be a Little Person.
n
nMillie’s family is so grateful for the love and support she receives as she continues to grow and learn.
n
nMillie will be adopted as a Sparrow to Trinity Lutheran & Highland Elementary Schools. Students will have the opportunity to work hard to raise money for Millie’s ongoing treatment and travel through sponsored community service.
