Alvaro, AKA, Tito, is a fun, loving, and sweet 13-year-old boy who loves his family and loves adventure.

nAs a child, Tito was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and a type 2 clotting disorder called Von Willebrand Disease (VWD).
n
nTito was scheduled for heart surgery in November 2021, but after a pre-surgery procedure doctors discovered he had pneumonia. His health declined rapidly, and surgery was cancelled. Tito was in the ICU for one week.
n
nTito is now regaining his strength and healing from pneumonia. His upcoming lab tests will confirm when/if doctors can reschedule the surgery.
n
nThe fact that Tito has pulmonary hypertension makes surgery and other procedures extremely risky. He cannot be under anesthesia for long.
n
nDespite all the medical challenges, Tito remains brave and gives his family the strength to journey through this.

nTito and his family will be traveling to Stanford throughout this year.

nTito will be adopted as a Sparrow to Eagle Point High School in partnership with Crater Lake Academy. Students will work hard to raise money for Tito through sponsored community service.
