When students meet their Sparrow at their school’s Sparrow Launch Assembly, they are challenged to make a difference in their Sparrow’s life by making the choice to look beyond themselves and serve others. As they complete community service to others, every hour unlocks a portion of sponsored “seed money” for their Sparrow. Students are also asked to write a personal reflection on what helping their Sparrow has meant to them. These heartfelt reflections are collected and then presented to the Sparrow family at the end of the project. These reflections serve as proof of how the power of compassion is changing hearts and giving a sense of purpose to kids of all ages.
