Read Ivry's Story

  • Meet Ivry, an 11-year-old cowgirl at heart who loves horses and barrel racing, dirt bikes, and going out shooting with her family!
  • Ivry experienced some swelling in her neck in June of 2023 and went to the doctor where she was diagnosed with stage 2 non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
  • Non- Hodgkins Lymphoma is a type of cancer that required weekly treatment in Portland for over a year.
  • Ivry and her family had to stay in Portland initially for a full month and then make the trip back and forth every week to complete her treatments of chemotherapy and blood transfusions.
  • Ivry also experienced a serious and uncomfortable complication: frequent neutropenic fevers requiring hospitalization for IV fluids and medications.
  • The treatments were working though, and she was able to slow her trips to Portland down to once a month.
  • On October 2, 2025, Ivry rang the bell celebrating the fact that she had made it through treatment!
  • A few short weeks later, on October 30th, Ivry’s neck was swollen again, and they discovered her cancer was back, but this time, it had moved to her lymph nodes. Ivry was given a new diagnosis – T-cell Leukemia.
  • This time, Ivry’s treatment will include chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant.
  • Ivry’s medical team is looking worldwide for a donor match for her, and she will complete the radiation and transplant which will require 4-5 weeks in the hospital, and then an additional 6-10 weeks in Portland for close monitoring
  • Ivry will be adopted as a Sparrow to Pilot Butte Middle School. Students will work hard to earn money for Ivry through sponsored community service, supporting her and cheering her on as she and her family continue to navigate her medical journey.
