Evelyn is a fun and incredibly positive 16-year-old who loves driving and going to new places. She enjoys being with her family and friends more than anything.

nIn March of 2021, she went to the doctor about a lump on her neck that had been there for a while. She wasn’t overly concerned but thought she better have it checked out. The doctor did an X-ray but didn’t seem concerned.

nA few weeks later, she was called in for a follow-up. After an ultrasound, CT-Scan, and blood tests, she was sent to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

nEvelyn and her mom were shocked when the doctor told her she had thyroid cancer.

nOn December 6, 2021, doctors removed the tumor and several lymph nodes. Evelyn’s journey has only just begun. Doctors are currently formulating her treatment plan. She is brave, taking each of these bumps in her journey with grace. She is truly an inspiration to those around her.

nEvelyn will be adopted as a Sparrow to LaSalle Preparatory College. Students will work hard to raise money for Evelyn through sponsored community service.
