Chris is a caring 14-year-old who others love to be around. He loves homemade tortillas and top sirloin steak. Chris also loves playing the trumpet, violin, and the French horn.

nIn August of 2021, Chris’ life took an unexpected turn. Out of nowhere his knees and back started hurting. Then came nosebleeds that would not stop.

nA trip to urgent care quickly led Chris to the emergency room. There, doctors ran multiple blood tests. They told him it didn’t look good, and his mom was concerned.

nChris was told he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His chemotherapy started the next day, and his long journey began.

nChris spent the next six days receiving chemo. He is at the beginning of his journey and must have cycles of twenty-eight consecutive days of outpatient chemotherapy. These are followed by other intermittent rounds.

nDespite all of this, Chris remains positive. He tries to attend school online, but he is often tired or is in chemo when his classes are meeting. Although he has a long fight ahead of him, he is strong and determined to beat this.

nChris will be adopted as a Sparrow to Liberty High School. Students will work hard to raise money for Chris through sponsored community service.
