Read Carson's Story

Carson is a silly and energetic three-year-old who enjoys building things with Legos and Magna Tiles. He loves penguins, Moana, and rainbow colors!

In March 2022, Carson was pale and not his active self. When doctors ran blood tests, they noticed his hemoglobin was slightly off. They ordered a blood transfusion. Within a few days when tests were run again, he was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

His family was devastated. Carson’s treatments began immediately with spinal taps, bone marrow biopsies, PICC line placements, and chemotherapy.

The first month of treatment was especially rough. Carson was placed on blood thinners after having a clot in his arm from chemo. He also began experiencing neuropathy in his feet.

The side effects from the steroids and the chemo continued but he was brave. He will continue to fight as doctors carefully decide what is the best course of treatment.

Carson is strong, and loves to be active, run around, and ride his tricycle. Doctors will continue to monitor his progress. Right now, he needs everyone’s love and support.

Carson will be adopted as a Sparrow to Lake Oswego High School. Students will work hard to raise money for Carson through sponsored community service.
