Everest's Story:
Everest is a sweet and happy baby boy who loves to snuggle and be active.

On August 27, 2021, Everest was taken to the doctor after his mother noticed abnormal breathing.

Everest was admitted to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, where he spent several weeks in care.

Doctors administered many tests that discovered Everest was suffering with a rare lung disease.

On October 18, 2021, Everest went in for surgery. Doctors did a lung biopsy and were able to diagnose Everest with neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy (NEHI).

NEHI is a disease that will affect Everest his entire life. However, the hope is that he will possibly grow out of some of the severe symptoms that affect his breathing.

Everest’s condition has caused cardiac damage to his pulmonary arteries, so doctors are monitoring his heart closely.

Everest will travel to Portland often to see doctors.

Everest will be adopted as a Sparrow to Hidden Valley High School. HVHS Students will work hard to raise money for Everest through sponsored community service.
