Marissa's Story:
(4/1/08) Marissa Huddleston is a beautiful 17 year old girl who was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) in March. Marissa had noticed some unusual bruising, and didn't really think much of it. Shortly after, she was in a fashion show, and someone helping out noticed the bruises and recommended she see a doctor right away. After being seen by a doctor she was diagnosed with CML. She is being treated with chemotherapy and will more than likely need a bone marrow transplant. Marissa is a very sweet young lady who attends Gladstone High School and is admired by her peers. She was "Miss Multnomah Outstanding Teen" in 2007. She is very involved in the community, and also enjoys dancing. Sparrow cash raised for Marissa will help with medical bills not covered by insurance, as well as utilities.
