Dylan's Story:
(4/22/11) Dylan is a 12-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Acute Myelocytic Leukemia (AML) in January 2011. He was immediately taken to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, a place he will have to make his new home for at least 100 days. While there, Dylan will undergo intense chemotherapy treatments and he is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant in early May. Hopefully, Dylan will be able to return to his real home in Rogue River sometime around June of 2011. While fighting cancer is painful and hard, Dylan remains optimistic and polite, although being isolated in a hospital bed for so long can be frustrating for someone who enjoys sports, animals, and the outdoors as much as he does. While Dylan is fighting hard in Portland, students at Rogue River High School will be working hard to support him from a distance, doing community service on his behalf in order to raise money for him and his family to help them through this difficult time.
