Amber's Story:
(5/21/10) Amber is a senior at the Metropolitan Learning Center in Portland, OR who will graduate from high school in a few short weeks! She was diagnosed with Ewing's Scarcoma January 2008 while she was a sophomore in high school. She spent the following 10 months in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and 5 surgeries on the tumor in her hip. She kept her spirits lifted watching movies, learning copius amounts about the human body, and honing her sharp sense of humor. She eagerly returned to school 1 year later on her scooter with a big smile. Now Amber is walking without crutches and dancing at the prom. Amber's strength and charmisma are an inspiration to all those around her. In a few weeks she will walk up the stairs of her high school graduation ceremony to receive her diploma. We are all so proud of her.
