Sahara's Story:
(12/16/08) You would never know by looking at sweet, bright-eyed Sahara that she is fighting cancer. She was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumor, a cancerous tumor in her kidney, a few months ago. She has had four chemotherapy treatments, and is currently up in Portland having the tumor, along with her kidney removed. She will then begin radiation. Through all of this, Sahara continues to be a bright, happy little girl, full of life and personality. She is energetic and outgoing all of the time. She loves princesses and helping her mom take care of little sister, Willow. The students at Grants Pass High School are excited to be adopting Sahara as their sparrow for the 2008/2009 school year. Through community service, they will raise "sparrow cash" that will help Sahara's family with medical bills, travel expenses, and everyday family needs.
