Landon is an unpredictable, energetic four year old. He loves puzzles and has a beautiful spirit. Landon was first diagnosed as being Anemic, so he was given iron and was told to eat more meat to increase his iron intake. It wasn’t but a few months later that Landon was Anemic again and had a cold on top of it. His mom, Linnea, took him for some routine blood tests.
Not long after, Dornbecher Children's Hospital called and told Linnea that they needed to be in Portland the following morning. Landon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoid Leukemia, a type of cancer in which the bone marrow makes too many immature white blood cells.
Landon then had to stay in Portland for two months of intense chemotherapy. Landon now travels to Portland once a week for Chemotherapy. He also just had ten days radiation. Landon is on six different types of medication and is headed into what is called, Maintenance Mode. This will mean less trips to Portland but more medication at home.
Although Landon’s life has been a difficult one, he is full of happiness and love. He enjoys riding on the scooter with his big sister, Taylor, and, just like any boy, loves playing in the dirt.
Landon will be adopted as a Sparrow to Crook County Middle School. Students will work hard to raise money for Landon through sponsored community service and fundraising projects.
