Isabella's Story:(4/29/08) Isabella Brown is a smart, beautiful 5-year-old girl who has Bilineage Leukemia, which is a combination of two more common forms of leukemia, ALL and AML. The doctors had a difficult time diagnosing Isabella's disease and so she received transfusions weekly since her 5th birthday in July 2007 until it was diagnosed as leukemia just before Christmas. Since then, she has been in the hospital full time receiving chemotherapy in preparation for a stem cell transplant. The doctors have been unable to find a matching donor, but they are still looking. The treatment has been intense, but through it all Isabella has been very strong with hardly a complaint. When she is feeling good, she can be seen dancing and laughing in her hospital room. Isabella loves kitties, drawing, and playing with her dolls and her two brothers. Her family has been separated a lot of the time during her treatment and they look forward to the day when they can all be home together again. They have been so blessed by the support they have received from their friends and family. Sparrow cash raised for Isabella will help pay for trips to Doernbecher's hospital in Portland (gas, food, and lodging), as well as daily living expenses.
