Dillon's Story:
Dillon spent his middle school years and his first two years of high school as an active wrestler and member of a mounted shooting club in Kittitas County. Dillon's life changed when his truck was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Since then, Dillon has worked hard to regain the strength in his arms and shoulders, and today he is able to drive a car and participate in riding horses again at the Spirit Therapeutic Riding Center in Ellensburg, Washington. Recently Dillon and his parents traveled to Panama in order for him to receive treatments that may help him use his legs again. These treatments are not covered by insurance because they are considered experimental. Dillon has been a Sparrow for two years, and this spring several local groups of young people will be working to raise funds for his ongoing treatment. Dillon is completing his last few high school credits and working at a local fly fishing business.
