Cheyenne's Story:(2.23.09) Cheyenne is a beautiful teenage girl with a bright smile. To look at her you wouldn't know the pain and problems she's been dealing with. Late last summer (2008) she started experiencing headaches and kept getting a reoccurring bloody nose. In September she went to the doctor for x-rays and a CT scan and they said she had a mass on her brain. She was sent to a neurologist who did an MRI and said she had a benign cyst on the lower left lobe of her brain that is approximately five inches long and one inch wide. Cheyenne has missed a lot of school since then because she has constant headaches, nausea, and being light headed. Some days she can't even get out of bed. She is on several medications to help with the pain and nausea. Her parents are trying to get her an appointment with a specialist in Portland who can run more tests to determine what can be done or see if this cyst can be removed. Cheyenne was an active young lady and was on the basketball team. She hasn't been involved in school sports since this cyst was discovered. She loves horseback riding, riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers, and just being outdoors when she's feeling good. She is usually in medium to severe pain 24/7, but loves hanging out with her friends whenever she can. Sparrow cash raised for Cheyenne will be used for medical expenses not covered by insurance, travel expenses to Portland for testing and treatment, and everyday living expenses.
