Axel's Story:Axel was born on 1/22/10. He has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, short-gut, cleft lip/pallet and hypertension of the liver. Axel has been in and out of the hospital all his life. Axel was not able to leave the hospital until he was 9 months old and since then has had 5 major surgeries. Axel has a feeding tube where he receives his formula and a central line to supplement his nutrition and administer medication. Axel and his family must travel from Moses Lake to Seattle to check in with specialists at Childrens’ Hospital.
Axel has been through a lot but he is very strong and determined along with having a wonderful, fun, and interesting personality. Axel likes any kind of attention! He enjoys coloring, playing with Legos and putting together craft projects. He loves watching movies, enjoys all kinds of music and any type of food. Axel is practicing bearing weight on his feet and he can stand for a couple of minutes. The family is very appreciative for the support from the Sparrow Club at Rosa Parks Elementary.
