Jeff Leeland: Founder; Washington Director

Jeff Leeland

Jeff Leeland wrote the book One Small Sparrow--the original story of how students at Kamiakin Junior High in Kirkland WA rallied the community to save the life of their son, Michael Leeland. From the life lessons and inspiration that these heroic kids provided, came the idea of forming an organization that matched children in medical need as service projects for youth in schools. Since 1995 over 1,000 children, 'sparrows' have been adopted by hundreds of thousands of kids in schools throughout the USA. Jeff now serves as the Washington state director for Sparrow Clubs and lives in Bellevue WA.Jeff Leeland
