Sparrow Clubs USA National Board of Directors

Scott Kelly (Board President) 

• Scott is Vice President of Strategic Planning and Comunications for Asante Health Systems--overseeing three hospitals in Southern Oregon and Northern California.

Mark Mintz (Vice President / Interim Treasurer)

• Mark is a Financial Advisor for Banc of America Financial Services Inc. Prior to that he served as an officer in the Navy for 20 years.

Mike Simpson (Secretary)   

• Mike and his wife Liz own and operate a dental lab technician business and also a scuba diving business. Liz serves as an ex officio member

Stephanie Atkinson   

• Stephanie is a dental hygenist, mother and wife of Oregon gubernatorial candidate, Jason Atkinson. Jason was formerly a board member before running for governor.

John Esser

• John is a retired dentist who serves as a prison chaplain. His wife Penny also serves as an ex officio member of the board.

Mike Irwin

• Mike is broker/owner of Irwin Investments, LLC and also property developer with D.R. Horton.

Steve Mezich

• Steve is one of our founding board members since 1995. He was the principal at Kamiakin Jr High when his students rallied to save Michael Leeland's life. Steve is currently principal at St. Catherine School in Seattle.

Jeff Leeland  (Executive Director and Founder)

• Jeff and his wife Kristi are founders of Sparrow Clubs USA. Their son Michael was the impetus of the fundraising project at Kamiakin Jr High in Kirkland WA which inspired the concept of Sparrow Clubs USA. Jeff has served as the organization's Executive Director since 1995. Jeff is an ex officio board member as well.
